I don't want to get into too much detail, but myself and family have been in self-quarantine since March 7th. I started with mild symptoms such as pressure in my chest, headache, chills, and fatigue. I never had a fever, and my dry cough was very infrequent. My husband came down with similar symptoms 5 days later. My two and a half year old (Always gives me or gets whatever I'm sick with) has never had any symptoms.
On Sunday the 15th, a doctor advised us they didn't have enough tests so we could not be tested. In fact, they didn't have enough swabs to test anyone for the common flu. The doctor's advice was to act as though we all had Covid-19, and act accordingly.
My family did not travel anywhere, or come in contact with someone who tested positive for Covid-19 as far as we know. What we do know, is that I spent the 2 weeks prior to getting sick, going to the library with my daughter for toddler activity times with all kinds of other families. I suspect community spread had already started before our area had the first reported case of Covid-19, which was right around the time I became sick.
As of the 15th, you could not get a test unless you traveled to a known outbreak area, came in contact with someone who already tested positive, or had to be admitted to hospital for respiratory issues. The lack of testing and the fact that a lot of people are a-symptomatic is what has me very concerned.
Stay safe. Stay home.
