Singer Chappell Roan calls out fans for 'creepy' behaviour — and she's not the only one
"I don't want whatever the f--k you think you're supposed to be entitled to whenever you see a celebrity. I don't give a f--k if you think it's selfish of me to say no for a photo, or for your time, or for a hug," the American singer said in a TikTok video Tuesday.

"That's not normal; it's weird. It's weird how people think that you know a person just 'cause you see them online or you listen to the art they make.... I'm allowed to say no to creepy behaviour, OK?"

Lauren Hough describes how it felt for her when an essay she wrote about being a cable tech suddenly blew up. I haven’t read her book, but follow her on BADREADS (she grew up in a cult, joined the army, became a bouncer at a bar and, yes, a cable tech. Anyway, I like reading her stuff).

I hadn't heard of her, but I'm sure many celebrities share her sentiments. It's NEVER okay to touch somebody without permission. This also goes for some celebrities who feel entitled to touch fans sometimes.

I don't like using someone's given name if they don't know mine. It feels impolite.

It used to be so easy, on the rare occasions where I wanted to interact with a celeb... "Mr/Mz" Surname felt comfortable and respectful.

Now, given that I'm older and they'd generally would be younger, that just feels/sounds unnatural. Not that I have as many opportunities anymore... but still.

Just one more stupid thing to be anxious about.

It's not in person creepy, but interacting off and on with fan subs has brought me across some creepy stuff.

One I really do not get is the whole "tribute" culture that seems to exist. Along with the similar activity of "jerk off together".

Tribute is posting photos of a celebrity with cummon them, often including a dick. Like, What The Fuck.

Yes. Before COVID, I had my picture in my skype at work. I often got recognized in the food court or what not by people who didn't have their picture up so I had no idea who they were... it was weird and made me very uncomfortable. Kind of reaffirmed what I already knew, that I'd really dread being famous. I feel a lot of empathy for celebrities who talk about how weird it is when someone acts like they know you even though you've never seen them before in your life. I'd love to be richer, but wouldn't want to ever be known to the public. Even being a "local celebrity" sounds exhausting. It actually really bothers me when gossip mags bash celebrities for obviously made up stuff about their personal life. I think some people can justify any amount of cruelty if they are jealous of them to any extent. Most celebrities are regular people who were very fortunate. As long as they didn't do anything terrible, I'd not wish harm or humiliation on them.
