Yow ... someone in my building keeps posting about ozone therapy stopping the virus and some conspiracy keeping THE TRUTH hidden. When I finally called him on it, diplomatically, he responded he used to study this stuff so is an authority on it.

I should reply that, no, reiki is the answer to it and accompany the email with a scan of my cerificate that I had reached the Master Practitioner level in it. Hmm, think I will go do that ....

It's just been reported that a request by Ohio governor Mike DeWine to delay the Ohio primary election until June has been denied by a county judge. Unlike some other states, Ohio's governor does not have the power to reschedule the election by executive prerogative.

The governor had specifically argued that it was impossible to operate physical polling locations that comply with the latest pandemic-handling guidelines for the public that have been issued by the CDC and other federal agencies. Since this is breaking news, it's not yet been reported under what reasoning the judge denied the request.

Yow! A new thing of toilet paper had an unlisted shipping and handling charge of nearly 30 dollars. That order got cancelled quickly.

After the judge's ruling I mentioned in my last post that denied the Ohio governor's request for a rescheduling of the primary election, the governor had the state's health director declare a public health emergency, with an announcement that Ohio polls WILL be closed tomorrow despite the judge's ruling. The law apparently gives the health director wide latitude as far as shutting things down in emergencies like this, but even so the authority of such a declaration vs. a court ruling is not something that has been tested before. I suppose it's unlikely that a judicial injunction can or will force the polls open tomorrow, so the legal question will have to be settled later - if it's settled at all; the governor's move has wide bipartisan support in Ohio and is unlikely to be challenged, unless a particular candidate decides to complain.

Despite these measures in Ohio, the governors of Illinois, Florida and Arizona have all declared they will have tomorrow's election as usual, despite the CDC's recommendation against gatherings larger than 50, and the president's recommendation today against gatherings larger than 10. They seem to think wiping the machines with a wetnap every so often will be fine.

Florida voting is filling in a piece of paper and then feeding that into the machine. And we've had plenty of time for early voting here, too. Me, I'm not bothering. I don't care that much which old man gets the nomination, I'll likely vote for either of them unless things go stupid, anyway.

I’m not seeing a sense of urgency around here at all, except in the doctor’s office. I had to go to the pharmacy today, which is in a supermarket, and other than panic buying everyone was carrying on as if normal. I did see one customer in a mask, and the cashier at the gas station was wearing gloves. But that was all.

I had a small bottle of isopropyl alcohol and tried to stop germs that way, but honestly my flu could be something else and without testing who’s to know?

People just won’t believe it until it affects them personally.

There aren't enough tests available anywhere in the world to test everybody with flu/cold symptoms. That's why they use them for the more severe cases only, especially when there are breathing problems/ lung issues. There is no cure at the moment. All they can do is support the breathing system when hospitalized and do the usual pain relieve. In the end the body has to win by itself.

I’m trying to get lots of water and Vitamin C and rest.

We’re not even trying to do testing here. The testing situation is a mess because of the administration.

But my doctor wants to put me on an antibiotic if I don’t get better. I think this is an assumption it could turn into pneumonia. I’m not getting better, but if I had never heard of coronavirus I would think I had flu, and it could be. But damn if it doesn’t fit the description.

Officials in western Japan's Mie Prefecture say a man who was a passenger on a cruise ship that was hit by the coronavirus has again tested positive after recovering from infection.
