No worries, I changed my mind about the name, so I've considered going back to my Han Held account here. But in a weird (and I admit not entirely rational) way it feels like I'd be saying being trans is a phase -so Monica it is (here, if nowhere else).

I'm a little anxious that someone will decide to block it off -but at least two of my neighbors seem stable so it shouldn't be *completely* blocked off. (and if they do somehow ...well, roadside. )

Yeah, I don't know if I'll keep my sea view either. There's a castle in the water off to one side, and if the Lindens parcel off more ocean, who knows.
That's why I didn't try to get the (currently) beach parcel next to me that was abandoned (instead of my current one, that is ; I've no desire to tier up again). Because if the area in front of it gets populated, I'll have no view at all. On my funky hillside, I stand a better chance. I think, lol.
Looking at the map, if I'm reading it right, it does seem that more parcels are planned in what now looks, from my parcel, like ocean. The Lindens giveth, and the Lindens taketh away. Or something.
The main improvement over my last parcel, so far, is that none of my neighbors seems inclined to build right to the edge of their parcels and encroach on mine (and I have been careful to do the same).

I feel better, I met one of my neighbors just now and he seems pretty chill -especially since I get the vibe that he was busy when I introduced myself. So for the moment I feel good that it'll keep open.

Now I just have to wait for the Lindens to finish processing my ticket so I can (hopefully!) buy the small abandoned parcel by me ...

So last week I got a bit depressed about the mess in my inventory, and I was also feeling under the weather in RL, so I did some gardening and a lot of sleeping and not much SL.

Tonight I did a little SL exploring and then Monica said Hi in chat, so I visited her new home she's setting up. It has a waterfall and a shallow pool. So of course I slipped and got my shoe wet ! They dried off quickly.

So I guess I'm happy with SL again

I recognize a few of those merchants! I actually have items by Whisk, Ghosted, Fortunata, PsiCorp and Static! One of the partners is also where I spend a deal of my time - the Ark.

I got out of the hosp yesterday and when I got home (and settled) I started in on another castle build.

I'll admit it's hardly great, but I'm still proud of how far I've gotten with it in the last day-ish or so:

I've been avoiding second life because I know it's time to try out and choose a mesh body and I am dreading the process!

I felt the same way.

It's really not that bad.

At first it is a bit bewildering but once you try a demo and play with it a little bit (or a free one like EBody, not sure about male but free body to play with!) you realize it isn't as complicated as it seems. All you are really doing is hiding the system body with a full alpha and attaching mesh pieces that look like a body. Same with a head.

The only real difference between messing around with a mesh body and other attachments like a HUD is, well, you can't put clothes or hair on a HUD. At least, I don't recommend trying.
