I've not used the beta grid for a while and tried to log on to test some mesh clothes that I have made.
I knew there had been problems for avatars that had not logged on for a while so I sent a email to support and got this reply.

Hello Stora Zhora,

Thank you for contacting Second Life support, and for your patience!
Unfortunately, at this time Support is unable to sync new accounts or re-sync existing Resident's inventories and passwords with the beta grid, Aditi. We are also unable to update mesh upload permissions for the beta grid. We are very sorry for this inconvenience. Our developers are working to fix this issue, but it may be some time before things are back to normal.
I'm lucky that logins still work for one of my alts but for how long who knows :(

Sounds like the email I got when they fixed an alt's problems connecting to MP [if I tried to log him into MP, not only would he not be logged in, but I couldn't log any other alts in either.... ]

Sounds like stuff is breaking, but they can't get it fixed....

FTFY

That pretty much fits with what I'm hearing elsewhere -that SL is basically coasting on maintenance mode with no new tech or improvements slated to occur.

The sequel will probably be better.

I don't think it's that. I think the transition to AWS didn't work out quite as expected.

I am not an expert on all this elastic computing virtualization stuff, but I know a bit, and setting these servers up has a lot of quirks that are a little different than plugging in some network cables on a hardware server and setting some static IPs.

A lot of these issues seemed to pop up when they did this move completely. I think there was just a lot more unexpected quirks to it. In the long run, I think it will be better and better enable LL to make actual improvements, once they iron out the initial kinks.
