Let's talk about that AI on device sometimes really means deception by device. Samsung always prided itself for its Galaxy line having a superior camera system, even taking crystal clear moonshots at night with ease.
People often wondered how Samsung is able to achieve these photos, because normally you need quite some fancy stuff to do so. Then Reddit user ibreakphotos had an idea: Samsung is lying, they've just trained an AI network to recognize the moon on photos and put some high resolution moon texture then over that area while processing the data, job done.
So first he shot a photo of the moon, which looked like this:
And the result of the photo app was this:
The photo is showing details which clearly are not in the source material, therefore cannot be upscaled. This is how Samsung was caught on cheating here.
