Yeah, I read that on Reddit. Confused me. So she miss-hit the HUD and her avatar did a few 'embarrassing' things and the other party left and dumped them? I . . . what?

I don't exactly understand what was embarrassing or why the other person left. I mean, if that happened in any other setting (shopping: "look at this!" *accidentally begins humping the ground and masturbating), maybe? But in a "we were about to have sex, I accidentally hit the wrong buttons and they left" setting? WTF?

Honestly, some people get real weird. Once, I was trying to find a good position and dude suddenly just ended it and said something like, he wasn't a rubber band, I think, basically because I changed too many times. Didn't ask any questions or make any other comments.

I suppose, if the person did that in a G-rated region, and kept trying different poses/etc, after getting discouraging feedback... I might be disinclined to continue associating with them.

That post is hilarious. Another thing I find fun is that it's now ranked sixth of all time by upvotes on that subreddit, and it looks written by ChatGPT.

If you've ever asked ChatGPT to write humorous stories in the style of Reddit, it's quite recognizable.

It's a little unlikely that a redditor all at sudden starts writing like ChatGTP. Then the unusual amount of em-dashes, typical of the current LLM generated stories, while that user never used em dashes in the previous 4 years. Add to this the "…" ellipsis character instead of 3 periods. Then, that user didn't show this eloquence before (mostly one-sentence or one-word replies or something like "He the boyfriend and he real goofy to post her like that" ???), but now, with uncommon wording and phrasing, writes a post with a story-telling structure, with a setup, conflict, climax, and resolution along with a generic advice and a slightly didactic tone, and an explicit "moral of the story" section with a numbered list, that is also a very common LLM pattern (ChatGPT often writes structured takeaways or summaries).

Look at this other example of these Reddit posts written by ChatGPT. It's 100% certain and confirmed by the poster in the comments (BTW, don't rely on tools like GPTZero that are easily fooled, it returns 88% human, LOL!). You can see it's similar, even the em-dash in the title plus more in the text, the mimicked Reddit lingo (from "y’all, buckle up" onward), the writing style, the general patterns and so on.

This one, explicitly written by ChatGPT, also uses "…"

A screenshot.

There are many. There are also bots pretending to be normal users, farming karma.

The post on r/secondlife is likely from someone who asked the chatbot to rewrite her story in the style of a fun Reddit post. The sequence of told events is a little strange, as Lexxi say, though. But I've had my share of WTF moments with people who do strange things and have strange reactions, so it could be.

In any case, the post was a fun read and made me laugh. The sad part is being dumped by a partner for illogical reasons, but that means that person isn't ok, so it's their loss and you can find someone better.
