What happens if base stations overlap or reflect off walls?

Quick question for anyone running multiple base stations: if two of them have slight overlap and reflect off a shiny white wall, will that mess with tracking? I noticed my headset drifting randomly when I walked into one side of the room, and my controller just flew across the map. I kind of want to recreate the glitch on purpose, but also… It’s chaotic. Any tips on what not to do with base station placement?

Oh yeah, shiny walls can definitely throw your tracking into chaos. VR base stations are kinda like cats with lasers—great until something reflects weird and they just lose the plot. If you’ve got two stations overlapping and a glossy wall bouncing signals around, it’s no wonder your controller tried to leave the map entirely. Honestly, recreating the glitch sounds kinda fun in a cursed-science-experiment way. But if you want stable tracking, try covering reflective surfaces or angling the stations so they don’t stare each other down too hard. I’ve had similar drift issues and just throwing up a curtain fixed half of it.

I get what you are saying, but honestly, slight overlap with base stations usually helps tracking—not hurts it—if they are set up right. It’s probably not the overlap causing the drift, it’s the reflections off that shiny wall. The sensors get confused by the bounced signals, not by two stations talking to each other. If you cover the shiny surface, you could probably keep the overlap and get way better results.
