My Spotify Discover Weekly Playlist gave me a bunch of songs with Dixie in the title this week. I was all WTF? The algorithm seems to think I'm some kinda neo-confederate loser, just because I like some old military songs (love me some Sousa). One of the Dixie songs is actually good, though. It's a civil war Yankee song, sung by Tennesee Ernest Ford, called Union Dixie. I was about to start picking it out on guitar to learn it, to piss off my family in Georgia, but then I found out it's part of an entire album of Yankee songs. One of them is Marching Through Georgia. I'm definitely gonna play this for my extended family from Georgia next time I get the chance. They will probably disown me, LOL. I don't care, I love talking trash on the south.
