Most of these are preexisting scams that I think my parents could spot. What worries me the most is an AI mimicking my voice claiming to be in trouble or something... That scam has been around for a long while, but it used to require a real voice actor. Obviously not anymore... A parent of one of my family's friends once fell for that scam before AI, so obviously it's a lot more dangerous now.

I'm also sure we'll have a lot more deep fakes of politicians saying horrible or dumb shit.

Easy fix. You need a safe word, based on some obscure family in-joke. Without that word, don't trust any plea for help. Works both ways, so you won't be fooled either.
