It's not a bad idea in principle; but there's no universe in which Mitch goes for this and anyways, what department would he be competent to lead even hypothetically?
Is "Mouth of Sauron" a position in the US government? I hear the last one had an unfortunate encounter with a sword.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ........
Trump is going to cancel Christmas at the White House if he loses.

So while Trump supporters have gathered outside ballot counting offices in Detroit and Philadelphia to demand those states "stop the count", other Trump supporters have gathered outside the Maricopa County ballot counting facility in Arizona, where Biden is currently ahead, to demand....that, I don't know, Arizona keeps counting, I guess? Which is...what they're already doing, inside that building, but...protest, though! Or something.

Unless it’s just a social media joke, I understand the Arizona protesters are upset because they voted using Sharpies and have learned that will invalidate their ballot.

People vote with sharpies?

That was one of the early rumors that I think was making the rounds this morning. There was a location where Sharpies were provided to voters at the poll. But the Secretary of State's office already made it clear I think that all of Sharpie'd ballots would be counted as valid.

Trump's lead in GA is down to 23,000 and 164,000 in PA. I think GA is pretty close to out of votes left to count though. I have no idea how many are left in PA but I'm still not really seeing either flip to Biden, as awesome as the idea might be.

More counting in Arizona has chiseled a tiny bit away from Biden, but he's still up about 80,000 there. So yeah, waiting on Nevada tomorrow morning.

Like I said earlier, North Carolina was alleged this morning to still be "in play", and nobody has called it. Trump is ahead about 80,000 there. I know they had some mailed-in ballots to count; but I have no idea how many, and the vote tally so far has not changed at all literally all day, and there has been ZERO information from NC so I've basically been ignoring them. Alaska is also way behind on their reporting, but it's safely presumptive to be a Trump win so nobody cares.

It's probably more of a "Let's start a riot" russian trolling. Anything sufficiently dark and non-reflective should be more than fine. I'm pretty certain my local polling place (CA, not AZ) has been having me fill my paper ballot out with a medium point sharpie, or similar permanent felt tip marker.

IIRC, years back, one of the school districts in AZ fucked up royally by buying a years supply of pencils that WERE NOT "Number 2"'s and couldn't be processed by the standardized test mechanical readers. Ooops.

Update on why Arizona Nevada takes so long:

" 1.234.521 - 1.234.522 - 1.234.523 - 1.234.524...."
"Hey Joseph, you want some coffee?"
"Great idea Mrs. Jones, two sugars please.
Now where was I?
Shit!
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 ........"
