It's literally a stand-in for all of those "death bridges" in literature and film.About 6 minutes in, the "bridge" looks like the same one used in Bram Stoker's Dracula with Gary Oldman. Or maybe it was the castle bridge in Van Helsing. It was one of the two.
In the US sets are reused/repurposed all the time. That's been going on for over 100 years now. No reason it can't be done with CGI as well as long as they have permission from the copyright holder.
All of the Stargate series were filmed in and around Vancouver as were many US tv series and movies of the same time period. It's one of the reasons why RDA quit when he did. His daughter was 5 at the time and he wanted to be there while she grew up instead of in Vancouver most of the time. I'm still pissed at the fans that jumped his ass for it and begrudged him watching his daughter grow up because they were too selfish to let the man be a dad rather than just a father.
I tried learning German through popular music but there are only so many words On the other hand, I did get to appreciate some of Judith Holofernes's rather incredible word playTerry Pratchett is probably the main reason why I'm quite fluent in English.
I think I was 15 years old when I picked up "The Light Fantastic" in a bookstore, together with Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". But it was Pratchett whose books I started reading in the original language because some of his humor is simply impossible to translate.
If you want to learn a new language, it's a good idea to start with something that makes you laugh.
