I was bothered by someone describing nude pictures as "pornographic" when, at least by my standards (and, I think, those of most of Europe, at least, and I'd suspect much of the US too) they were nothing of the sort.

I think this is a cultural difference, USA is still very Puritanical.

I'm willing to bet, though, that neither GQ nor the French magazine Max, the two places magazines for which I understand she did nude photoshoots, were ever prosecuted in the US for publishing pornography or, if they were, the case ever got very far.

Well, yes, and presumably it would have been impossible to show much of the first couple of seasons of Game of Thrones on terrestrial TV in the US, too, because of the FCC's rules. They couldn't have been shown on the BBC before 9pm, either. But that doesn't make GoT pornographic.

Pulitzer Prize Board members filed a litany of broad discovery demands in an attempt to beat back Trump's defamation suit over Russia probe reporting awards.

You may think this is a gotcha of some sort, but they constantly decide their opinion on something based wholly on what others tell them it should be. This is no different.
