Researchers have identified a potential issue with sensors used in some older Tesla models that misinterpreted speed signs to read the speed limit as 50 miles per hour greater than the sign stated when a piece of electrical tape slightly obscured one of the numbers.

The issue was identified as part of 18 months of research by McAfee researchers Shivangee Trivedi and Mark Bereza, who sought to examine the ways that machine learning could potentially be exploited, specifically in the case of autonomous vehicles. Many autonomous vehicle suppliers use cameras produced by MobilEye to register the limits on speed signs, and McAfee researchers found that using stickers to slightly alter the appearance of the sign had the potential to interfere with the camera’s reading.

Former Pro Bowl NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb and his family escaped unhurt after a blaze erupted at their home in Nashville, Tennessee.

Cobb’s wife, Aiyda, said the family was “lucky to be alive,” as she detailed what had happened on her Instagram account.

“The Tesla charger caught on fire in the garage late last night and quickly spread,” she wrote on Instagram Stories. “We got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet."

Tesla Cybertrucks are being delivered to customers covered in dirt and full of trash

Cybertruck owners are now reporting that their electric pickup trucks have been delivered with trash in the cabin and mud on the bodywork, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal. As Tesla (TSLA) rushed to get the gargantuan trucks out the door, it reportedly left protective film on windows and bodywork, as well as muddy handprints across its stainless steel body panels.

In recent months, more than two dozen Cybertruck owners have posted on social media about Tesla (TSLA) delivering them dirty trucks, with users noting muddy floors and dusty interiors, as well as sticky residue and unsightly spots on the outer panels.

Others have posted photos of unusual white streaks in the truck bed and a hazy coating on the windshield that obstructs the view.
