Do the Germans have a word to say in that matter? If so there's an election coming up...
Yes, there are several levers.

First there is the diagram of countries committing help to Ukraine:

In the EU Germany also has the biggest part of Ukrainian refugees with around 1.2 millions, while Poland has around 957K. Czech Republic has around 370K, so probably is the country with most Ukrainians in relation to the domestic population.

So through direct stuff and EU Germany is the 2nd biggest supporter of Ukraine after the USA.

The next government will be lost likely lead by the conservative party, CDU. This party is for on-going support just like it is. So if the CDU gets to rule with the right partner not much will change for Ukraine itself. But it is possible that the CDU will try to push Ukrainians harder to work in Germany.

In Poland, which has an almost as big share of Ukranian refugees, 65% of them are working. In Germany it is around 25% only.

The CDU mentioned this several times as wrong politics, and that the German state is not pushing the Ukrainians enough into the labour market compared ot other countries. So most expect the next government to build up pressure here to reach level similar to Poland.

There are also two extremist parties right now, one right wing named AfD and one left wing called BSW (Bündnis Sarah Wagenknecht). No other party at the moment wants to work together with AfD, which really tends quite to the extreme right.

Bot these parties though have in common that they demand peace negotiations, de-funding of the Ukraine war and putting pressure on Kyiv to finally get back to the table. Both are also pretty more or less openly pro Russia.

AfD wants, and BSW is more or less the same:
1. instantaneous cease fire with peace negotiations
2. no EU and NATO membership for Ukraine
3. no sanctions against Russia
4. no more weapons and ammunition deliveries to Ukraine
5. turning Nordstream II on again

AfD has in current polls around 20%, CDU 32%. As mentioned it is unlikely that CDU will make a government with the AfD, because they many times refused to do so. All other parties as well.

The other lever, which also some parties have been thinking about is sending the refugees back to Ukraine. Their reason is that supposedly many Ukrainian refugees are regularly traveling back there, visiting their families and then move back. So their reasoning is if they are driving back to visit people war cannot be so bad in these regions. Since the CDU turns more and more right wing right now, who knows if they dare to implement that.

By the way Norway already took some actions in September. Ukrainian refugees seeking shelter coming from Western Ukraine there will not get it granted automatically any longer, but it will be decided instead on an individual base. In other words Norway considers some Western regions of Ukraine as save.

Maybe we should instead hand over the earthly remains of Ukrainian national hero Stepan Bandery to Kyiv, so that he can rest there. Since he was a big Nazi collaborator and he died 1959 in Munich at the hand of KGB killers, his grave is still there. And it gets demolished every view weeks, meaning it gets a new paint job and other stuff. In Ukraine for sure that would stop.

It's undoubtedly a long compound word that will be appropriated into English as soon as the news media discovers it.
