I don't think the signs can get any clearer than they have been for at least the last 5 decades.

I think by 2050 there will be clear signs of how badly we fucked up, but humanity won't be wiped out in a day or a year or even a decade.... the collapse is likely to be slow and painful.
Maybe. It seems like its going to start cascading pretty rapidly. Especially human on human problems as people start panicking over mass migration and lack of food.

... we'll see who else they blame.
1) Obama
2) George Soros
3 through 6,999,999,999) The usual suspects
7,000,000,000) A random Republican who is said to have inadequately supported Cheetolini.

of course they can! Once FL starts to permanently flood, that MAYBE will get some attention from conservatives... maybe... we'll see who else they blame.
By the time the flooding happens we will be way, way beyond being able to do anything about it. It's like waiting for terminal lung cancer before you give up smoking.

Andy Borowitz gets serious for a bit, and provides some potential salve to the wound of this election.

Quick quiz: what do these three statements have in common?

1) Donald Trump won in a landslide.
2) Kamala Harris lost because she ran a terrible campaign.
3) The Democratic brand is toxic.

Answer? They’ve all been spread by the mainstream media. And they’re all false.

I already have up most "mainstream.news" back in 2016.

On Election day, I blocked Reddit.

I just want to quit any news.

Aren't many of the Republican strongholds located in the panhandle?

I deleted the Nextdoor app. What a toxic MAGA shithole that place has become!
That must depend on local moderators because I live in a deep red state and I've seen no MAGA-type posting. The worst behavior is a couple of people spamming the app with their daily feel-good-love-Jesus posts. They're an easy mute.

People around here don't seem to be fond of Nextdoor. A couple of posts from a couple of miles away every day or two. Deleted since it is useless.

Occasionally it's useful to ask questions about things that actually happened in my immediate neighborhood that I can't just google. I am rarely on there and don't pay much attention to it. Most of the posts I see are very boring. I'm also in a more left leaning area, so I don't see as much of the stuff many others complain about.

I don't pay much attention to nextdoor, in downtown-ish San Diego, it's a gushing firehose of lost/found pets, people complaining about the homeless or rude drivers, and other trivial stuff.
