While some spam is still slipping through, multiple spammers have been caught at registration because of their email, IP and username being in known spam databases. This one even matched someone I already banned. I get an approval queue that looks like this - they are dumb enough to put this info in the about section. No I'm not blocking out their IP or email on this, fuck them.

Also, this was my message to them:

That's because old vbulletin was unsupported, I think.
xenforo relies on "stopforumspam", but other softwares include their own anti spam that always works. I actually own an old IPS community (not related to Second Life) and I haven't had any spammer sneaking in, not a single one in 5 years. They are all caught up in the registration process. Even Woltlab software, that doesn't appear in the top#10 list of forum softwares, has its own anti spam.

Wordpress is the one promoting spam since they provide a tool like askimet which is free and not free at the same time, preventing it from becoming a real standard, but I guess that's the goal. Tricking people into paying for it when all the bots start attacking your blog, which ironically always happens sooner or later.
The bright side about spam is that since google is not considering linkbuilding as the prime tool for seo any more, massive and bot spam should eventually be reduced since it will be pointless and a waste of time.

A 56k modem? That's being too generous. 2400baud modem, at the fastest is what these spammers deserve!
