I reckon my ratio is about 75% setting up and 25% post-processing.
This pretty much standard i think when it comes to sl photos... but there is no right or wrong way to do things... some people do more.. others do less.

i think more processing was done before windlight was added. but the best thing you can do is practice, practice, practice.

I spent most of Saturday putting together a new android look playing with ACESS cyber event demos.. i generally sit on a pos stand with two inventory windows flipping around between appliers, bodies, trying on different hairs... in my head i already have a vage image, profile of what that person is. like flipping though a picture book. i know i have the look once it matches closely .. by the time i'm done it has a name, background story and traits. (name: Dominika Role: Station Security droid Quote: "some chose to live, others chose to perish. Which will it be, Pink skin?")

I spent half the day yesterday looking for and around sicifi sims... my usually go to one cyberpunk city was offline/blocked tps. After several hops i went back to insilico... i usually have an idea in my head of what I want the shot to look like... with a quote or song sometimes. Originally I was planning to ask one of my friends to join me in the picture as she hold someone struggling in a Lab type setting but I ended up changing it for shot in the sky. my default 1920 resolution is ok but I've been doing what some of the bigger flickrs have mentioned that enabling High resolution snapshots and taking the picture around 5000 or 6000 resolution for something more sharp. taking a snapshot beyond your normal limit can cause your client to lock up as it attempts to render. Can sometimes cause visible lines in photos.

i started scrolling though with firestorm windlights to give me an idea of the composition if i use something light or dark. the only thing i really touch is the angle of the sun to make sure its hitting my body (or make it so the sun is in the photo). i have face lights which i've duplicated and aimed at parts of my body. After playing around with poses and compositions.. i hop on black dragon for the final shot at Maximized graphic settings...with my current gaming rig sl only freezes for a second or two... older computers may struggle.

firestorm High resolution. +1 SL Zoom in... Camera is Centered on the what they call the "The Boob window"... i'm still trying to work out details at this point checking out other spots on the sim( my god insilico changed has changed alot)... honestly i'd be fine with this picture as is.. but the shadows on the left side was bugging me.

Final shot on black dragon:

I did throw it into photoshop and did a 50% overlay of the same image blured out to round it out and darken the buildings in the backgrond. nothing major. I literary spent several hours and Linden just for one shot. i could of spent more time stamping in clouds, maybe an accessory, prop or two ( weapon maybe?) at this point i was lazy and wanted to go play with my new avie >.>

i'l repeat the process over again later.. been trying to do a male droid but i may have to bash some female parts on. ::thinks::
