lsl Sliding door to go down and then up

I have a need for a sliding door to go down and then up. I already have a full perms script I bought which allows a door to go up and then down. I thought it would be a simple matter of changing the - to + and the + to - in order to reverse the script, but what happens is the door heads for the centre of the earth...I had to stop the script running to get it to stop. I would normally ask one of the scripters of my acquaintance to sort it out for me as I am a dunce when it comes to scripting, but they are either unavailable or horrendously busy at the moment and so I don't like to ask them. Is there anyone here who would take a look at it for me? I don't like to post the script because although I have perms on it, it isn't my script.

Have you ever thought about turning a normal sliding door 90 or 270 degrees on the blue axe and then adjust the texture as well accordingly?

I did try that, unfortunately not. Most of the scripts use directional instructions from the location of the door, and it makes no difference which way up they are. The scripts on the wiki for sliding doors seem to make the door physics, which isn't a great idea for and down-and-up movement. I'm sure I'll be able to corral a scripter to make the changes .

No, it's on a platform and needs to go down beneath the platform and then back up. Thank you, I'll do that!

I have put on my overall and went deep in the archives of my former doorstore. And guess what? If I turn my doors 90 degrees it works as you want it. So if you want one to test it/use it, IM me in world (Sid Nagy) and I will give you one.

Caliandris, I got things going the way you wanted!

The script was simple to modify for this.

I'll be dropping the sliding, erm, wall back on you with the script in it soon. I'm also writing up a notecard that will explain the change I made to it to get the direction of the slide to change and why it works that way, and how you can alter the slide distance or speed (or both) with a bit of math applied to the values of its offset and 'steps' variables.
