$749 is about 7.5 years of monthly premium. I'm not quite optimistic enough to say SL 28B is realistic enough to spill nearly a grand into. Hopefully the fine print includes an unconditional early termination refund. (>_<)

I think SL at least has another decade left, especially if the phone viewer they are working on turns out to be a success.
There are several other reasons why I will not do it:

• I'm already 16 years on the road in SL. An awful long time. I never played a game or used a digital platform that long before. And to be honest I'm still around in SL, but I have the feeling I could easily do without it.
• That kind of money I will not ever pay for something non essential in life. If I can't pay my current yearly premium membership in the future, than I will happely live without it.
• Who knows what competition is brewing in the near future. There might be something just around the corner that will absorb my available time completely.
• I can't look into the future. I'm a chronically ill person. Because of that I have troubles with my eyes. My eyesight is stable at the moment, but only the forces know how long that will last. Diabetes is a long term wrecker.
• A lot of game companies that started to sell lifetime memberships made their product free to use not that long afterwards.

I've wondered that about winning Premium for a year as well. Khamon's grandfathered Premium has always afforded 1024sm of tier (it was not increased when the upgrade occurred) and 500L a week stipend. Will the stipend reset to the current amount if he wins a "modern" Premium account for a year in the birthday contest? I wonder.

Life accounts, last time they were offered, were not simply premium for life, they included 4096sm of tier. I have been impressed that LL haven't scrapped that arrangement all these years. I might consider this for the old lifetime package of 500L/wk and at least 4096sm of tier.

Buck Weaver RIP was an early shopkeeper in Kissling. He, Harold, Joan, and Andie (I still really miss her) built the first cityscape up on that plateau. Buck gave Khamon use of a block to create his first inworld park back in aught-four. Anyway, he bought a life account when they were available, then later rebelled against tierage and sold the account back to LL. The Lab actually paid him back, what was it, $225 and terminated the life agreement for the account. We were shocked and amazed on both fronts.

I suppose they remembered Buck's leadership in the tax riots, when we had to pay linden taxes for land and prims tied to our account, and simply didn't want to deal with another mass rebellion. We used to pack up our parcels, Monday evenings, so that those prims wouldn't be calculated in Tuesday's tax bill. Some people would even release their land then reclaim, and re-rez their builds, after the deductions were processed. That was, of course, pre land baron, but not pre thousand-prim bookshelves (you know who you are). We were so crazypants!

It's just a lifetime version of regular premium, so yes. However, L$500 oldbie elite does NOT get a special boost with Premium Plus whether ordinary or Lifetime. You get stuck with the L$650. I was hoping the oldbie elite would get L$800 with Premium Plus, but no.

Also these Lifetimes are more expensive and not quite as good tier-wise as the old Legacy Lifetimes. Those lucky FIC got 4096 tier forever for only $159/$225, even the Premium Plus (whether regular or lifetime) only get 2048! Of course, the Premium Plus-ers get double the group slots (drools), concierge level support, no upload fees, etc etc. I might have gone regular yearly Premium Plus if I could have TWO Linden homes with it...because group slots. I'd kill to be able to acquire group slots a-la-carte. My Queendom for more group slots. /me begs on the corner with sad-cat eyes for more group slots.

But I will say, I kind of wish they would maybe, archive off some of these old as heck builds that are probably on these accounts, if the account has not logged in in years.

These are often sitting on some choice water front plots on mainland and have not been updated in 20 years.

Regular PermaPremium, I wouldn't be able to lower my tier level so it would pay itself off in 7.5 years.

Not only what everyone has said about them, but they're limiting the number of Lifetimes they're offering. Only 200 for the standard Premium Lifetimes and only 20 for Premium Plus Lifetimes. Which is insane, I mean sure, the Premium Plus lifetimes aren't going to have many takers, but there's a fuckton of hardcore Belli Girly Girls who might take them up on a regular Lifetime. The return of "real" Lifetime's is something I've been wanting for...how many years now? A lot. And they brink back Lifetimes, but in an annoying way. Dammit LL! I just want to be Very VIP! (puts on delvey glasses).
