I love yogurt (plain but fatty) but I’m not a fan of the probiotic kind which taste’s chalky to me. Still, I bought some yesterday.

Never really had digestion problems, and my immune system has always worked well, but I don’t know if it’s all the antibiotics I took last year because of my chopped off finger, or Covid leftover crap, but I’ve felt “off” for a while. I’m thinking it’s my gut flora.

I’m a little late to the kombucha party but, I like it. Ginger is my favourite so far. I’ve been drinking some every day for the past week and it seems to be making a difference. Could be just coincidence, who knows.

Anyway, not a whole lot of science behind probiotics in general. Mostly, they say to just eat a well balanced diet yadda yadda yadda.

Have any of you read up on any of this?

What else could I eat/drink that’s fermented?

Hákarl , an Icelandic 'delicacy' of rotten, fermented shark. It sounds even worse than Surströmming (rotten, fermented herring) and Lutefisk (ancient dried, pickled cod). Bleh.

Alternatively, beer. Fermented and tasty. Especially compared with fish.

Chef Anthony Bourdain described fermented shark as "the single worst, most disgusting and terrible tasting thing" he had ever eaten.
In his series Ainsley Eats the Streets, chef Ainsley Harriott was unable to tolerate the heavy ammonia taste and described it as "like chewing a urine-infested mattress."
Available for 20,00 € + 15,70 € shipping for 100 grams which is $37 for 3.5 oz.

I swear by ginger for natural antihistamine production and regularity.

edit: clarification

Kimchi. Sauerkraut. Kefir (like yogurt).

I do like Kombucha, and ginger is great for your stomach.

Probiotics are actually supposed to be really good for you, which reminds me, might try using them more often because I've got ibs and it might help a lot.
