The dystopian tragedy that has befallen us — and not just Americans, it’s happening everywhere — is hard to bear, but some significant good has come out of it.

For example, the solidarity of diverse resisters. Whatever divides us is subsumed by what unites us — the fight against autocracy.

And especially the emergence of so many courageous patriots willing to defend us and the constitution. As we speak, the resignation of the four line prosecutors and others before them has started a cascade — the 2000 former DOJ officials calling for Barr’s resignation, plus today the group of federal judges meeting, plus the judges in the Stone and Flynn cases saying wtf is this shit and demanding an explanation.

And then there's these guys. To put it in stark terms...the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Love those people, also these:

Republicans for the Rule of Law, the principal 2019 initiative of the conservative political group Defending Democracy Together, founded by Bill Kristol, Mona Charen, Linda Chavez, Sarah Longwell, and Andy Zwick.[1][2][3]

Ad campaign
As the movement to impeach President Trump got underway, the group spent over $1 million running television advertisements on Fox and MSNBC, calling on Republicans to “demand the facts” about Mr. Trump and Ukraine.[1][4][5] The ad campaign targets a dozen moderate Republican Senators representing districts where voters may be persuadable that Trump has committed impeachable offenses.[5] They also run in swing districts currently represented by Republican representatives, including Fred Upton(Michigan), Brian Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania), Will Hurd (Texas), Jaime Herrera Beutler (Washington), and Mark Amodei (Nevada).[6]The ads air on programs that attract GOP voters, including Fox & Friends.[7] Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin calls the ads "devastating" to Trump's credibility.[6]

Judge Jackson strikes back:

“The truth still exists; the truth still matters,” Jackson said, echoing prosecutors’ closing arguments at trial in November. “Roger Stone’s insistence that it doesn’t, his belligerence, his pride in his own lies are a threat to our most fundamental institutions, to the foundations of our democracy. If it goes unpunished it will not be a victory for one party or another; everyone loses.”

Whenever feeling bad, I am just looking at some random talk from Hans Gosling on Youtube. Gosling was mainly a statistician, founder of the Gapminder foundation and quite the optimist.

Sadly he died three years ago.

Yay judicial branch!

The entire text of the article is:

A federal judge on Sunday ruled that Ken Cuccinelli, the acting director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, was unlawfully appointed. Read the full order:
Followed by a 55 page pdf of legalese. I won't be doing that.

The best fuck you to Trump. 😘 Impeachment is driving record turnout.
