They are already talking about finding ways to "correct" the abortion rights issue. But it's a pretty clear Constitutional Amendment.

The marijuana issue is a citizen initiated law so the Legislature can change or repeal it. There is already a proposal to divert some of the tax revenue to prisons and police. I guess because they can't write tickets for pot any more.*

*Ohio decriminalized possession of small amounts already so a joint or two is a civil offense that gets ticketed. Distribution is a criminal offense.

I went into one of the dens of conservatives on Reddit and well, hmm...They are deciding now that abortion is a losing issue...Some of them are deciding that Trump is an albatross around their neck, after 2021 and his being the president who put those people on the SC, some of them are flat out saying that Republicans don't govern, just oppose and now they've lost their biggest issue...Some are wanting to jettison evangelicals and/or MAGA because they absolutely will not compromise and the majority of Americans support abortion rights, particularly in the first and second trimester, while understanding that harming women who want children but who have complications or forcing young girls/women to carry their rapists' babies is a nonstarter.

I bet the majority of these folks were so very happy when Trump won, when the SC nominees ended up there and also when Dobbs came down. It's a pretty good bet that they will never vote for a democrat, but maybe, just maybe they'll stay home.

"It wasn't abortion" MT Greene spits out her analysis of the GOP's disastrous night

Today on Twitter, Marjorie Taylor Greene offered a 945-word screed explaining the reason for the GOP’s latest electoral debacle and offering her solution. Let us have a look.

She starts off by denying abortion itself had anything to do with the GOP losing an abortion referendum.

“Republicans did not lose because of abortion itself, it’s how the party handles the issue or rather does not handle the issue.”
I do not know what she means by Republicans not handling the issue. The evidence is clear — since Dobbs overturned Roe, 14 states have banned abortion, and another 11 have increased restrictions. That seems like handling to me. Perhaps I am missing her nuance.

She goes on,

“And there are bigger growing problems. Republicans are losing Republican voters because the base is fed up with weak Republicans who never do anything to actually stop the communist democrats.”
Or any Democrats, for that matter.

This is so annoying because in a normal world, these people are literally just boring garden variety Democrats. Which is a Conservative party.

The GOP is an extreemist regressionist party of Fascism and to sounds like maybe these idiots are finally waking up to it.

God I want the GOP to just die so the Dems can split into a proper Conservative and Progressive party and we can have sensible balance again.

I'm hoping at some point the theocrats become so toxic that the robber barons decide they're better off supporting the left. But I doubt that will happen within my lifetime.

Punk ass fascists.
Doesn't this get into Marbury vs Madison territory? *

* One of THE foundational Supreme Court decisions early in it's history establishing the court's power to review and pass constitutional judgement on legislative laws, well worth researching for those who are unfamiliar with it..

Only kinda sorta. Since the current Ohio Constitution was written after Marbury v Madison it explicitly states that the courts will have the power of judicial review. It isn't just implied, it is outright stated.
