Holy smoke! The way people were talking a week ago, a RN takeover of French government was considered a done deal. Wow!

I so hope you're right, Innula. I really hope these two victories in Europe energize voters here in the US. The slow slide into fascism that seems to be happening all over Europe in the last decade or so has been really disheartening to watch even in the middle of our own problems here. Like, things have been getting dark. But the last couple of days really are like a ray of sunshine piercing the clouds.

Tin foil hats wearers still believing that the American moon landing was a hoax now must be very brave, because: Yuri Borisov, the head of Russians space agency Roscosmos held a speech in the Russian parliament stating the Americans were there and the USSR had proof about it.

"As for whether the Americans were on the Moon or not, I have one fact to share,” he said. “I was personally interested in this matter. At one time, they provided us with a portion of the lunar soil that the astronauts brought back during their expedition.”

According to Borisov, the lunar soil provided by the United States underwent thorough examination by the Russian Academy of Sciences. The analysis confirmed that the sample was indeed from the Moon.

The leftist New Popular Front was cobbled together to prevent the far-right National Rally from sweeping up all the votes. Now it's won a surprising majority of the vote in France's runoffs.

Following European parliamentary elections in June, France's voters witnessed two surprising developments at home. First, in light of the defeat he suffered at the European polls, French President Emmanuel Macron moved to dissolve France's parliament, the National Assembly, and called snap elections.

A day later, France's political left, traditionally splintered into numerous small parties, announced it was forging a new alliance, the New Popular Front (NFP) in order to prevent the far-right National Rally (RN) from winning at the polls.

They appear to have achieved that goal, emerging from Sunday's runoff election with the most seats in parliament. "The New Popular Front is ready to govern," said Jean-Luc Melenchon, head of the NFP's largest party, the left-wing France Unbowed (LFI) party, on Sunday evening.

An established cybercrime group with a track record of attacking political targets posted on Tuesday roughly two gigabytes of data from the Heritage Foundation, a prominent conservative think tank based in Washington, D.C.

Self-described “gay furry hackers,” SiegedSec said it released the data in response to Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, a set of proposals that aim to give Donald Trump a set of ready-made policies to implement if he wins this fall’s election.
