You better not tell me you’ve modeled that human form from scratch because I’ll be very depressed at how much I’ve learned blender in a year
:ashamed:

In my defense it's coming up on TWO years since I first subbed to the classes, so there's no reason to feel bad!

I tried Blender off and on for several years before that but never really learned or retained anything. I'd like binge on some YouTube tutorials, make a thing, and then go another 8 or 9 months before wanting to make another thing and by then I would have forgotten everything so I had to binge the exact same tutorials again (fun bonus if updated versions had been posted since the last time!). Two years ago I decided to get really serious about learning Blender - like in a way where my goal is to make doing this a marketable skill instead of a hobby - and that's when I decided to start paying for the classes.

As for the figure - well, the Blender part is just learning how to use the sculpting tools. Once you know how to use the tools that's all the Blender you need to know. The rest is other stuff. Biggest thing of all no matter what you're making, is getting good references. I found a site that has human reference photos for art, and I got some - you know, to use for the figure's face. For the body, I just took a few selfies...

I also spent a few hours watching and rewatching a YouTube series on human anatomy for artists and that was HUGELY indispensable help.

Whoever broke into a Massachusetts man’s home last week didn’t take a thing. They did, however, leave the house spotless.

Nate Roman tells The Boston Globe that when he returned to his Marlborough home from work May 15, he could tell a stranger had been there.

Nothing was missing, but the 44-year-old Roman noticed the beds were made, the rugs vacuumed and the toilets scrubbed. They even crafted origami roses on the toilet paper rolls.
My floors could use a good break-in.

Okay so, I live in an apartment building and I have this neighbor who spends most of her time at home, and a lot of that time is spent watching YouTube videos. Sometimes loud enough for me to hear.

That by itself doesn't bother me. Part of living in an apartment building means you occasionally can hear things that are happening in other people's apartments. Some of these things are....less fun to hear than others; but anyways, the YouTube videos my neighbor plays are never loud enough to be annoying for that reason, just enough for me to hear if there's no other sounds.

So for the last like couple of weeks she's been micro-binge watching this one particular channel. The voice sounds like a younger dude, and they tend to be lists, like "12 strange photographs that science cannot explain", "7 times people saw actual angels", stuff like that. Usually paranormal-y BS but not always, sometimes they're about true crimes or disasters or viral videos or whatever.

Honestly I don't care about the content, but holy f-word is this guy's voice freaking irritating as flock. At the very beginning - I'm assuming she's watching the videos in chronological order - the guy's voice just sounded awkward and sing-song like he was reading from a script and taking care to pronounce every word clearly for the video. But it got worse over time, and now his voice is like deliberately stilted, with highly unnatural inflection for some words that is completely disconnected from the flow of the sentences they're in - it almost sounds like a bad computer text-to-speech program except the guy definitely talks more normal for his Patreon callouts. So apparently this guy has decided to exaggerate the weirdness of his diction and turn that into his trademark, but it's sooooo maddening to me - like to the point of weird irrationality. Like I wish this guy was standing in front of me so I could smack him repeatedly in the face, that's how irritating it is. TALK HUMAN, FOOL

The bones of three children washed up on a beach at Cap-des-Rosiers following a storm in 2011.

The remains of 18 others, mostly women and children, were uncovered by archaeologists on the beach in 2016.

Experts have now said the remains were from the 1847 Carricks ship from County Sligo.

Scientists said that that the location of the remains, combined with laboratory analysis, confirmed the theory that they were from the Carricks shipwreck.

The famine killed more than a million Irish people and forced about a million more to emigrate after blight devastated the potato crop.

The Carricks ship was carrying 180 emigrants when it sank off the coast of Cap-des-Rosiers en route to the Port of Quebec.

This is from last October...

The Autoblow AI, a sex toy made for penis-possessing individuals, consists of a rubbery sleeve and a motor housed inside a canister that aims to simulate oral sex. It launched its Indiegogo campaign last week and quickly hit its goal of $50,000. Its biggest advertised advantage over the original model from 2014, the Autoblow 2, is a machine learning algorithm that “continually changes technique” in order to pleasure the user in new and exciting ways.

Instead of repetitive, mechanical motions, this "AI mode" promises to replicate the nuanced and unpredictable motions of a real, human blowjob. In order to do this, the company asked a team of six people to watch and annotate 109 hours of porn and hired machine learning engineers to create a model to take all that data and translate it into what the toy does. This entire process took three years.

The result of this research is the Blowjob Paper
About as far as you need to read.
