Why not? Post about clothing/styles you like.

I’ll start.

Nice suit.

Plaid, long-sleeved button-up shirt.
Khaki pants with wide pockets.
A fat leather belt.
Gladiator-style leather sandals.

Imma casual. And this is pretty much what I wear to work, though the sandals get replaced by boots or laceless shoes in the winter.

OMG A serious answer... from Free!

I guess I have to answer for real now.

So it’s winter.

I have, me runs to closet and counts... 8 cashmere sweaters 🥴, a few pairs of combat boots, thick leggings, a million scarves and leather bags.

Ok, I have a lot of other boots and sweaters, but boots, bags, and sweaters are usually what I’m wearing these days.

Also,
(Not made in Vermont)

Is it what you’re wearing right now?

I love the idea of sweaters but I own maybe 2, and don't wear them that often. I'm not much for layers unless it's really cold, and I can't wear sweaters next to the skin. I also have this choking thing with tight clothing, so turtlenecks are a no go.

Winter gear: Pea coats! I have 3 of them. I consider it my one nod to trying to look dressed up.

I have a pair of those regular fat winter boots you typically see on grandmas. Nothing fashionable here - I wear them for the worst snow days, shoveling, and kicking snow out from beneath the car. I also own a pair of somewhat less grandma-ish leather boots, which I wear when I'm not so worried about slipping and such.

I have something like 2 dozen scarfs and some face mufflers. Somehow these became a gift thing for me with my family...

Since I discovered mittens with the removable finger parts, like this:

Well, 🥰

Also, tuques!

Always stick to what you like, whether it’s in or out of style. Trend setters don’t follow trends, yadda yadda.

Now, for suits - which I don't really wear. But if I did...

A lot less this:

More this:

Although the boots with that pink sofa cushion monstrosity...

That first one looks like she got doused in Pepto-Bismol.

I like the second one, except for what appears to be a hole in one knee. I have never understood why people wear clothes filled with holes - especially pants that look like they've been through a wood chipper!

My daily wear is boring and entirely practical - jeans for working in the yard, sweatshirts and hoodies for when it's cold, etc. My costume closet, on the other hand, has everything from Star Trek uniforms to a complete pirate outfit.

*clears throat* I wore combat boots in the 80s! :p

Seriously, I tend to wear leggings or jeans, teeshirts and slippers as everyday.
I wear vice presidential shoes most times to run errands [my mom can call my chucks clown shoes, but now I've an ally!]

For cons, I tend to wear leggings, knee high mocassin boots [in black], and dressy black tops.

And when its cold I've a red wool jacket I think mu mom snagged for me from her local vincent de paul that even has a chain on the neck to hang it up, or a black leather coat I got at her local vincent de paul because it got cold when we were visiting and I needed something cheap, or my danish wool great coat - either of the wool coats is also a nice rain coat no matter the time of year.

I also have sweaters and a few dresses, and some lovely sandals.

Obviously, I don't get to wear this stuff much at all anymore - its getting warmer here and up in atlanta, so....

PS, I too have having anything tight on my throat, but I still love things like that stylistically so I sometimes will do it anyway.

Class days I wear a waistcoat, a dress shirt or tuxedo shirt, and a tie. Usually with jeans since I am on camera, but slacks when I am in the classroom. And I rotate my hat collection, usually a bowler or tophat. I consider teaching as a type of performance and dress accordingly.

Most days jeans and a tee shirt. The other day I realized the Peter Murphy concert shirt I put on is older than about half of my students. In the winter I either wear a thermal shirt under or a jacket over.

Holidays and cons I have a large Steampunk wardrobe that I have made for the most part. And working on RenFaire attire. By next year I plan on having a Babylon 5 Earth Alliance doublet and trousers.

Whoa, I didn't know others have that issue. I also have that issue.

As for what I wear . . . I don't necessarily like it, I just wear it.

Pre-covid, I tended to wear "nice pants" & shirts with many buttons; during covid, I've been wearing something I never wore before - shirt dresses. It's just a hell-of-a lot more comfortable lounging around wearing shirt dresses. I've no real idea why I never tried them before, and I've no real idea why I tried them now (if I recall correctly, I think I saw one on clearance for like 5 dollars, or something). I know why I like wearing them, though. They are loose, and I don't have to wear anything tight with them. Like pants. Or socks.

A lot less this:

GAAH! What is THAT? My EYES the goggles....they do NOTHING!

The jacket is WRONG for her, not even taking into account that COLOR in what... a silk shantung? She might have been able to pull that off in Magenta or black though. It would help if the jacket was tapered in a bit more at the waist. The boots are great.

More this:

Although the boots with that pink sofa cushion monstrosity...
WTF! Look Aubrey, the jacket is fantastic, but those are the WRONG jeans and the WRONG heels for those jeans. What you want is a sleeker jean, a coated jean would work...no distressing! Black pump or those lovely boots above.
