Roomba 660 needs a new battery, the existing one is DC 14.4V and 3000mAh.

The places around that sell them advertise DC 14.4V and 3500mAh. (Same shape, size, connections.)

If I'm understanding this right, the extra amps just means extra capacity and doesn't mean I'll blow the thing up. (That would be the voltage that would blow things up.)

That's correct. Since the device will only use the current it needs if available, the extra amps is just extra capacity, or a rating of how much the battery can deliver over a given period of time if needed.

Remember the old days when you got an extra long life battery for your Nokia and it was like a big fat hump on your bar of soap? It's like that, except without the hump because this is THE FUTURE.

Indeed. It is, after all Ohm's Law, not Ohm's Suggestion.

Gonna end up with something like that for my laptop.

Oh yeh, my Thinkpad at work back in 2005 had a two-deep battery like that, stuck out an inch and a half.

Mine's a T420 I got as a cheap refurb. I'm loving it so far, and it has lots of potential upgrades.

(Not asking for help, just venting in a safespace :p )

Now why oh why ye denizens of redmond hast thou thrust upon me the great satin known as Skype?

I did not pay you for it (office 365) nor do I have an organizational server to hook it up to (and i asked them, does anyone really... really?)

Apparently until I find the powershell script to rip it the F out of my machine along with their other crap ware infestation.

CCleaner's uninstaller lets you take out bits of Windows you don't want. Makes a nice addition to DoNotSpy10 and Winaero Tweaker --- between the three of them I haven't needed the list of hax I was using before.

I trashed CC when they changed their "lifetime" policy to annual renewal... 9 months after I bought it (an yeah it was in the license but had never been enforced or brought to anyone's attention say on the order page).

I'll give the others a look I use OOShutup, even tried Raven something once, that was a restore from image :p oops.

Oh and nope. If Skype for Business goes in, best leave it, they have intertwined "Lync" into Office and removal well (insert appropriate Dunder Mifflin incident here). So I'll hide it and sever it's connections to the world.

What if you don't need Office? Is it in Office or Windows? I guess I'm going to have to boot up my Wintendo to check.

Sorry, seems they have baked Skype for Business into office 2019, least the static (we will never update the features of this; promise?) version I got.

I don't miss cleaning mouse balls. But I still have laser mouses that don't work on some surfaces. Like my office desk.

On the Nokia Android. Say what you want about Windows Phone the OS, but those Nokia's were nice and they were super affordable.

Buddy of mine won a Windows phone from Klout (remember Klout?) and it was awful. The hardware was nice (particularly the camera) but overall it was a mess. He gave it to a relative and they ended up not using it either. And this was back when any smartphone was a big deal.

Nokia got off to a great start in the smartphone world with the 9000, but they didn't seem to know what to do with it.

OMG, speaking of Nokia...

It's a pure Android phone, it's cheap, they haven't crippled it with insufficient RAM like most low-balled phones, AND IT HAS A REMOVABLE BATTERY.
Nokia smartphones are actually a really good value for the money. I have a Nokia 7.1 that cost me $300. It's pure Android, and It has 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage, can take micro-SD cards, and has a fingerprint reader. It doesn't have a removable battery, however. Still, I've been quite happy with it thus far.
