Damn right. I am very surprised that some of our restaurants haven't started offering it.
It's quite popular in Seattle, and they've done some marvelous innovation with it. I've heard of it being anywhere in the NE USA where hockey is played, each with a regional.

They use a spicey tomato based gravey and cheddar cheese. We call it chilli cheese fries.
*sings* Memorieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!

I was a ski instructor for a couple of seasons. When you do that -- especially if you're teaching beginners, where your whole day is slide down/climb up -- it is almost impossible to eat enough calories to keep weight on, and large orders of chili cheese fries were daily lunch for most of us. The cooks would double up the cheese for us. (It didn't hurt that they were the cheapest thing on the menu ....)

Oh hell, we've known this for decades. Also some spectacular Italian.

Kickass kebabs are in Germany.
Also, our entire bread culture is based on the fact that each tiny kingdom, duchy and county had its own bread variations. All of that got eventually absorbed into an empire in the 19th century, which is how we ended up with over 3,000 types of bread.
