Anyone know of a microwave that provides a cook THEN cool down timer?

I've been seeing microwave products with instructions like "let stand N minute/seconds before removing package to cook evenly/cool down/whatever," and apparently I do not have the skill to evaluate time to anything close to reality without a clock involved.

Mine has a kitchen timer function, but you have to set it manually. It's a Kenmore.

What would be nice is an "add 1 minute cool-down" button, since it is almost always one minute of carryover cooking. I'd be perfectly happy with it replacing one of the many mysterious functions on mine that I have never used.

That would actually be a really handy feature!

"Read and follow the instructions on the package", "Unwrap", "lay the table", "serve" and "do the dishes" buttons would come in handy too.

*Finally has something over free*

Best method that works for me is to forget that you microwaved something 'cuz you wandered off to do something else then remember that you microwaved something then forget what you were doing while you forgot that you were microwaving something.

Have you been waiting long?

And then I have to reheat it because it's become cold. No thank you!

I like my food lukewarm. I don’t know if that’s weird or not. I find everything tastes better that way.

Damn, I forgot the "put out the trash" button.

Food should only be hot because of the used spices.

Lukewarm is what you get in most restaurants too. And not because of lazy waitresses/waiters.
Food tastes much better if not too warm.
Cooked doesn't mean it has to be almost mouth burning hot when served and eaten.

Huh? I do that all the time. Not with mangos, just ... generally. Otherwise you get squish/crumbs/messy juice/whatever.

I do that with avocados but never tried with mangoes because some have fibres and such and the pit is flat. Anyway, I have two ripening in my fruit bowl. Will try that and bring back report 🙃

My spell check says ‘avocados’ and not avocadoes. Now I’m reading up on the rule...

potatoes, mangoes, etc.
