The "best" I can claim participation in any sort of (and sadly, non-food) festival is, at the age of 11 I played with my school band (I was on trumpet!) at the Cole Porter Festival in Peru, IN. We performed You're the Top, and C'est Magnifique (which I don't think is designed for a middle school band to play, but we did our best).

Good to know if you have a severe allergy to nuts…

Diagnostic dilemma: A woman's nut allergy was triggered after sex
What makes the case unique:
There are other documented cases of individuals with severe allergies developing local allergic reactions after intimate contact. However, the culprit is usually the direct transfer of allergens through touch or kissing. In other words, the allergen is present on a person's hands or mouth and then gets passed over.

"To our knowledge this is the first case of a severe food allergic reaction transferred by normal vaginal intercourse," doctors at the hospital wrote in a report.

We started ordering produce from an outfit called Misfits (disclaimer no affiliation et cetera) during the Pandemic and have kept the service. They acquire small, oversized, misshapen, items that grocery services won't buy and ship them to customers. The shipments come and we've been very pleased with their products. It's particularly useful when living in a super small town. Sometimes we add a loaf of cinnamon bread!

If you've got a dozen eggs and about 32 minutes to kill, this looks to be worth a try:

I actually do have one and a half dozen eggs in the fridge. Was going to hard boil half for snacks. The only problem with that recipe is I’m lazy. I usually place them in a pan of water, add some baking soda, bring to a boil, take off heat and wait 12 minutes, then dunk them in cold.

May try this some day, though. Sounds intriguing.

There are four videos you can click through. Was fun just for the (Pennsylvania Dutch (?) accent and how she stares at the camera the whole war through. Also, I suppose if you have too much heavy cream one day, you can always turn it into butter.

That actually looks like a great way to make butter (screw churning by hand). The way she stares into the camera is pretty creepy though. I felt like my very soul was being examined.

I just finished simmering a pot of ragù for ten hours in the slow cooker. I followed a traditional bolognese recipe, but had no bay leaf so added parsley and oregano, shhh, that’s supposed to be a no-no.
I had to look ragù up. That is not a usual English word other than the crappy brand of spaghetti sauce named Ragu. Seems like it is simply high quality marinara or spaghetti sauce, slowly simmered. Or as google says:

What is a ragù?
As for the answer, no horse for me thanks.

Ragù is a meat-based sauce, typically served with pasta. Traditionally, pieces of meat (often beef, pork, game, or even horse), are cooked on a low heat in a braising liquid (this is usually tomato or wine-based) over a long period of time.

We can thank the Italians for that. Like for that other non-English food name: pizza.
Everyone knows pizza is a common word in English. I have never heard anyone say ragu.

Growing up in the Midwest of the U.S., Ragu was a common option for the sauce on a homemade pizza. For those who didn't just want tomato sauce.

They made this pretty well though pulled pork instead of the usual bacon bits are different. Also they say they don't have access to big potatoes there. Then at around the 7 minute mark they say more commonly there you can get baked potatoes with tuna, mayo and sweetcorn (blech) or baked beans and cheese (could be good).
