But I did find something that really fit my tastes: "La FIN du MONDE" (La Fin du Monde | Strong Triple Blonde Beer | Unibroue), and I'm in love. I'm not much of a beer snob, but damn this brand is tasty. A little spicy, great for hot weather and delicious. 9% alcohol/volume.

Anyway, that is all. I just wanted to share, and now I'm going to go back to rewatching Helluva Boss on youtube. =D
You are at severe risk of taking a hard left into Belgian brewing -- a hard left I highly recommend.

I’m going to attempt to make a “kuchen“ cake today. Kuchen literally means cake in German, but kuchen cake outside german speaking places refers to a bunch of different types of cakes. Anyway, I didn’t know any of this before so looked it up and am still confused. Not a term I’m familiar with, but I have a bunch of dying peaches in the fridge and found a recipe. Wish me luck, my baking is usually hit and miss.

When I was growing up in Indiana we had a neighbor who would make Dakota Kuchen, sort of a flat fruit (usually) pie, or a large tart. They were delicious. I remember learning what rhubarb was after eating a slice of one of her kuchen.

:confusedcat: In which part of Kentucky did poutine originate?
The part where the Acadians (aka French) - on their migration from Canada to Louisiana - stopped for a weekend*.

* I know they mostly travelled by sea, not over land through the soon to be U.S. Fuck off.

(When I was younger, this was such a tongue twister for me. I still get mixed up and call it “à la Tenkuty”.)
I'd be doomed. My French accent much more closely resembles Peter Sellers ("There iss a BUM in mah ROOM! NO, not a BUM, you fool, a BUM!!") than any actual Francophone.

Look what I just bought myself. I’m a big baby-lala I don’t care.

I'd grab this off the shelf in an instant. Sadly, after a search online, no stores in my area appear to carry it. Even Walmart's website doesn't show they stock it. What's the point of you, Walmart Supercenters (though there are sightings)?!

I'd have to purchase it off Amazon for around $20 USD. Bah!

EDIT: Ooh, Target might have it in stock. Isabeau - let me know if it's worth a Family Size box purchase (~$5.29 USD).

Ooh, I'll have to invade my local Target! Pretty sure my local Winco won't carry it.

I got it across the street at IGA (just a regular grocery store) for $3.49 CAN on sale (small box).

Gee, you're all making me wish I'd gotten a couple more ha ha. Sales switch tomorrow, though, and I think they were $5 something regular price.

I have found a source of my favorite Sunda snack, tapai (fermented cassava root).

Its sweet, sour, tingly flavor scratches the parts of my taste buds other snacks can't reach.

I snuck when it was barely light to score about every other day last week.
