It has just been revealed in documents obtained by a Reno newspaper that Tesla's Reno gigafactory has engaged a corrupt state official to subvert safety inspections there.

It began when two Tesla workers were injured by equipment at the factory, with one losing a portion of her finger. The state OSHA ordered immediate safety inspections, but Tesla security guards denied the state inspectors access to the factory, even when they appeared with a sheriff's deputy carrying a warrant signed by a judge. The standoff ended when Tesla called Nevada attorney-general Aaron Ford, asking him to establish rules severely restricting OSHA inspectors' access to the plant and giving Tesla the right to deny entry to certain areas or refuse to present certain documents and employees for inspection.

If that were to happen up here I'm pretty sure the state, after a few days of trying to work thing out, would have the plant closed by the police and sheriff's deputies. It's already happened with one manufacturer (Water Gremlin).
