Do you have neighbours living above you? Are they quiet, or LOUD.

Mine are nice enough although they can be noisy at times (spoiled grandkids) but there’s a certain noise coming from the kitchen area and it’s driving me batty. It’s not even the noise itself, but more the eternal wondering of what ever it may be. And it lasts for hours. Maybe I’ve even mentioned it before here, I can’t recall. I just need to let out some steam.

Those of you who do a lot of cooking, what recipes need for you to tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap? Veal schnitzel? Pie crust? Noodle splat? What!? After 14 years, I need to know. I suppose I could just ask her, but that would be weird. Help me figure it out.

Or just let out your neighbour frustrations here.

My upstairs neighbor likes to hum songs, very loudly.

The only time I had upstairs neighbors was in the college dorm.

But whoop boy, did they LOOOOOBE to roll dice, all the time, probably some gambling thing but still.

Maybe an appliance with a glitch causing it to tap the floor under it?
What I'd be most worried about is the possibility of a water leak.

It‘s possible, I suppose, but I can hear her standing there and moving about. It’s more of an irregular knock tap tap knock on her counter. It really does sound like she’s tenderizing meat, but how much meat does one need to tenderize?

OK, now I’m getting Delicatessen vibes. 👀

You know those times when someone will say "look to your left, look to your right, if you do not see x, you are x." Well, I'm the crazy upstairs neighbor. *nods*

I'm in a townhouse, so no one above or below... but I am sandwiched between two units. Friendly neighbors, I get along great with them. I'm sure they roll their eyes when I have TV night once or twice a week (dialog is always too damned quiet so the volume gets cranked up.. then action is too loud so it gets turned back down... ugh. Typical 'TV' these days.)

On one side, is an older guy who *REALLY* gets into his sneezing. Like he adds to them. WAAAAAH CHOOO! He actually yells it while he's sneezing, go figure. I'm always tempted to yell "GEEE SUNND HEIT!" back at him. ;)

On the other, is a younger guy that does dance aerobics to EDM. And they've got 3 dogs. A little unch-unch-unch filters through but not much.

Fortunately the walls between us are extra re-enforced so not much comes through. Most of the noise we share is stuff that went out a window, bounced off the building across the street and came back at us. :)

Snow Peak? That's expensive, but good quality lightweight outdoor gear.

Those sporks are made from titanium and cost $10 each.

Sadly, they don't really work well as spoons or forks.

This is a better design:

I lived in an apartment complex for about a year after my divorce. I have nothing good to say about it other than it was reasonable rent in a middle-income neighborhood.

Upstairs neighbor was only raided once for making meth in the unit and giving everybody headaches. Then my other neighbors' kid turned out to be a movie extra for "Gone in 60 Seconds", but all he wanted was my stereo. About the time several of these people had a gunfight on the front lawn, I was leaving even if I didn't have a place to go.
