80 years old Michael Bloomberg announced today that he enters the pre-elections of the Democrats. It makes me really sad to see that at the moment the people with the biggest winning chances seem to be really old, white men again when this party has to offer so much more.

He's 80? He looks pretty good.

Too bad with that age doesn't come the wisdom of STAYING OUT OF FUCKING RING AND LETTING NEW BLOOD COME IN AND REVAMP THE PARTY.

I'm sorry, I'm cool, I'm cool. It's just that the wtf factor is really strong with that guy. And as a New Yorker my eyes just can't roll hard enough.

If I was 80, had more money than I ever could spend during the rest of my life and had to choose between playing bingo every Friday afternoon with all the other old timers in Shady Palms Nursery Home and running for The White House, I think I would have a go for The White House as well.
So little fun left at that age.
Go, Bloomy, go!

Ugh - so sick of old rich white men 'ruling'.....

And I use that phrasing because saw an old white man at WDW last week wearing an 'Old Men Rule' shirt, and it took all my will power to say, 'And that, sir, is the problem'

I don't think this is about being an old white man. We had 8 years of Barack Obama and the billionaires weren't crying about that. They've built their brand on having every kind of candy in their dish. Pelosi, anyone? It's delicious. Try the Kamala, I insist. They're just freaking out because because the kiddies seem to like the socialist flavor. That one will rot your teeth and is removed from the check-out aisle.

Old. Check.
White. Check.
Male. Check.
Stupidly rich. Check.

Bloomberg's throwing his hat into the ring has all the appearance of nothing more than checking off a bucket list item. We really don't need a president like that. Especially not now. Does anyone know where he happens to stand on, well, pretty much any issue?

Sorry for the dumb question. I’m Canadian so American politics are sometimes unclear to me. Who is the “they” you refer to twice here? It reads like you are talking about billionaires complaining, is that correct? Are you saying only billionaires are complaining and freaking out about this candidate?

I'm talking about that Bloomberg isn't in the race because he's old, rich, and white. It's an act of desperation to run interference to the block what's winning. You could argue that the block includes a woman. There is a grocery list of identity to choose from and the polls aren't showing that identity is winning. If we really wanted something different than an old rich white man, then Tulsi Gabbard would be our girl.

Try getting some manners when you address me the next time.

You're not asking a dumb question. Yes, I do think that Bloomberg is there because billionaires are feeling desperate to unravel what's happening between Warren and Sanders and Joe Biden .

So either he is a R again or he wants to stick it to Biden.

You probably could have reported him. Disney takes a dim view of political stuff.

Really?

If we take that term to include donnie, since he insists he is one, he has never STOPPED complaining about Obama. The whole R party acts like he is the devil in human form.

Actually ....

He will presumably take the most votes from people the closest to his policies. Which means Biden mainly. Everyone will take a hit, but I can not see too many Bernie or Warren supporters flocking to Bloomberg in comparison.

Then congratulations, they probably came up with the worst way if their aim is to help Biden. Out of the field he is the one who would probably be impacted the most by a Bloomberg candidacy.

Nah, I was being snarky - the shirt was just a little behind the curve for slang - you know 'Cats rule' or 'Girls rule'....

That's pretty much how I see it. If this isn't an attempt to check off a bucket list item, then he's trying to dilute and weaken the Democratic Party by drawing votes away from better qualified candidates. This really smells like an attempt to tear us apart and possibly hand victory back over to Trump.
