I have no experience with or knowledge of Lua (except in the very vaguest of ways), but I'm intrigued to know how it will fit with the 'state machine' approach that was pretty much baked-in to LSL.

That aside, any programming language that is better than LSL suits me fine.

No more option to save a script to Mono/LSL. Or am I missing something?

If so, has the "Mono" (or now just LSL - or Lua?) engine update truly been that optimized?

Luau is backed by Roblox, so sounds like a sane choice to me. Also having a programming language aside LSL to write scripts in will be definitely a plus, especially since Lua is a well known language for such tasks and basically everywhere.

I think a huge win for the Lua engine is that they bytecode generated is half the size of the mono generated code, so it uses half the memory. It is also faster.

Have there been any hints on when direct Lua scripts might be coming in world? I'd love to try it!
