  • If the Merchant hasn’t logged in in two years *and* a specific product hasn’t sold in 1 year (03/01/2022), the product will be unlisted.
  • If the Merchant hasn’t logged in in two years *and* the store hasn’t sold anything in 1 year, their store will be disabled.
  • This means that if a product has sold within the past year or has not sold but the seller has logged in within the last two years, that product listing will remain available on the marketplace. If a store has products, which have sold within the past year, it will remain enabled.
At last.
In my book these are good new rules.

Well... they should move the old stuff to something called the attic, because some is really interesting from a historical perspective.
IMHO a marketplace is no museum but a place to sell things. And it helps sales a lot, if the customers find for them relevant goods to buy (not to look at).
So yeah, a year not sold and the merchant not around for years means removal, is a really good move in my book

As a store owner who hasn't logged into the Marketplace in years, many years, I applaud this policy. Now I'm curious to see which if my items remains, if any, or whether my entire store goes away.

I think they need to add one more bit to this.

If a product has not sold in a year, but the merchant has logged in, it ahould send them a little email or maybe a notification or something.

Don't de list it, but encourage the person to delist or i prove their listing. They could even try to upsell the ad feature of the MP or something.

Also, do Mainland next.

Stores will be "disabled" which, to me, indicates that they can be reenabled during some period of time that I imagine owners will have after being sent such a message. Totez agree with them delisting unsold items that can always be added back if the owner believes the effort is warranted. Wonder if I still have a storefront?

edit: Don't. Green Fate does though with a singular item: Second Life Marketplace - 5 Red Interactive Candles

Some of the old content is worth keeping available, not just for historical purposes.

I will never be in favor of a black box world.

Hell, just make the search default to newest first instead of "relevance" which is never actually relevant to the words used to search by.
Also change the search results back to how many items found, not the now standard "10000+ matching items found"
Mainly because you've got some odd maths going on. For example, just clicking on "used items" results in the 10000+ items message and (for me) shows 104 pages with 96 items per page which works out to 9984 items BUT looking at the breakdown on the left column (the by price range) there is a total of 90850 items.
SO WTF LL? LERN2MATHS!!!11eleventyone

My first guess would be they have a limit of around 10000 items for any search. So if you filter by price range you get more items for the total of all the categories.

Still waiting for a feature to disable or block some sellers. The ones I will never, ever buy a single thing from but persist in showing one item several gazillion (ok at least 20) times over in a different colour separately. Sometimes I get an entire page of one single item in a plethora of colours .

Oh now it would be nice to block results from a shop altogether.
