Hulu's series based upon the Celeste Ng novel is airing now - the first four episodes are available and the remainder air weekly (damn you Hulu):

So far it is excellent - it's fun watching Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington chew up the scenery. It deals with complex issues of privilege, race, sexuality and family through the lenses of two very different families in a wealthy Ohio town in the 90s.

Dammit, I wanted to read the book first, but I haven't had time.

Jesus fucking christ, the finale episode was among the finest I've ever seen. I am completely blown away.

I really loved it. But I want to know

What happens to Izzy??? Does Mia reconcile with her parents??? Does Pearl ever meet her dad, or decide it's not important? What's a more "enlightened" Lexie, like?? Has Elena really learned and gained understanding of what it means to be a mother??? I HAVE QUESTIONS!

I think Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington were both absolutely amazing in that show.

Wasn't it Pear's father's house they were sitting in front of in the final episode?

I need to read the book - though something tells me I'll think the show sucks afterwards.

No, it was Mia's parents' house

I read some of the reviews of the book, and they weren't all that great. I was going to buy it but decided against it. I know that the ending was different than in the book.

I'm bingeing Big Little Lies right now, and just bought that book to read.

One of the ladies in my knitting group read the book, and said it is way better/more nuanced than the show. Plus, I'd read Everything I Never Told You by the same author when it was first released and liked it.
