Rumor has it, there used to be a time when there were whole channels that were dedicated to docxumentary shows about nature, science, and history, and they actually made some pretty good stuff. Nowadays, there are a bunch of channels whose names sound like they should have that kind of stuff, but the only programming they actually offer are collaborative video-diaries about people who hate each other and cringey fakelore about Hitler's alien Ouija board.

Luckily there are still creators online who manage to make first-rate documentary content, along with people who host good stuff from the bygone days of yore. If you've found a video that explains something excellently, and it doesn't seem to fit in any other thread that already exists, just leave it here. Hopefully this subforum isn't too obscure and people will find it!

To start things off: these people noticed something weird in Google Earth satellite imagery, and rather than speculating on what it could be, they set out to find out what it really was. The investigation is quite interesting, I think!

I've caught a few Biopics recently. The most recent was one about Tony Hawk. I found it more interesting that I expected to. A few of the main points I got out of it.

Tony Hawk just does not stop skateboarding. It's what he does, and it seems to be basically, constantly. It was really interesting watching a few bits where he is trying to do some new spectacular trick, and he falls, and falls, and falls, but you can see each time he is getting a little better. Like visually tell he landed slightly smoother when falling, that sort of thing. It's actually painful to watch him fall and fall and fall.

They mention Skateboarding's popularity is cyclical, and basically, every 5 years, these pro skateboarders are all broke at once. Tony Hawk mentions not being able to pay his water bills at one point.

The vast majority of his wealth, based on this anyway, is probably from the video game franchise. Being a Pro Skateboarder doesn't seem to be THAT lucrative.

I don't have the whole movie to link but here is a trailer.

You might have heared about the wandering stones in Death Valley, California. What you might have missed though is that this mystery has been solved in 2014, and even better there's video footage about how this happened.
