Because of course it would. Politicians often see it as a way to make money but donnie is taking it to a whole new level and seems to think it is JUST that. The transition office. His hotel nearby. Not divesting. His taxes. On and on.
In light of what they did in the 2016 election with Facebook/Cambridge Analytica, this is very bad. They want to use it to post directly into those supporter feeds and perhaps even send them text messages. Gee, I wonder what those posts might look like, and just who will be the buyers sending those messages.
For most campaigns, it is a way to share data with friendly candidates and PACs without violating campaign finance laws. In some cases the payments are also a way to transfer funds to a less well-off campaign under the cover of providing Goods and Services. But very few have used it as a naked cash grab, and none that I know of as brazenly as Trump.
Exactly. I am sure a few here or there have even used it to raise funds for their own elections when they were cash strapped. This goes beyond that though as they would have just been back benchers or local offices.
Personally, if I got a DNA test done that showed I was 1/32nd Native American I wouldn't be going around telling people I'm part Native American based on that.

Yeah that's the most jarring one right there. One can always speculate that a dead person would or would not have done or agreed with something or someone - but the Bushes while living can't stand Trump, so having them sitting around a table laughing with him over drinks just looks so obviously silly.
