I know this isn't the LL forum, but I had another though to just see what people thought. Heck, some 3rd party viewer may do it already.

How about, a local folder, in your inventory. Call it "Local" for the sake of this explanation, but maybe it matches to a folder, say, "My Documents/Second Life". Obviously there would be limits on what can go in this folder, since you can't put clothes or mesh in it, but things like note cards could sync to it, as text files, scripts maybe, if you have full permissions. Maybe SLURLs could show up in the local folder.

It also could be useful for temporary textures. You can already add a local texture and use it as a sort of preview, but what if textures in this folder just showed up in you inventory, and could be quickly used as temporary preview textures.

Maybe you could drop other textures there and it would save them to your documents folder.

Optionally, this could even be a mapable folder, so if you have alts, you could have individual folders, or even have a shared folder.

What I really want is a server side "Vault" folder that is managed on the web portal. Basically you can take old inventory items, throw them in the vault and they don't show up in your inventory unless you log into the website and manually drag stuff back out. Think of it as Amazon Glacier for SL inventory. I think I could go from 80k to 20k easily with something like this.

It would be a good way to handle outfit preview images without having to pay to upload a texture.

This was a feature in a lot of old copy bot viewers

It would be a good way to handle outfit preview images without having to go refill your coffee and take a dump in hopes the images have loaded by the time you return.
