Early voting started yesterday in Georgia, and I went at lunch time today to the county offices annex and got it done. Fulton County GA has a population of a million people, so it has two annexes besides the main office in downtown Atlanta. Usually I vote at the local library, but it is being renovated, so I had to go a bit further this time. As usual, we get a sticker after we vote. Took about 15 min from reaching the line to being done.

You may have heard about 53,000 mostly minority voter registrations being held up by our Secretary of State, Brian Kemp, who is also running for governor as the Republican candidate. Hmm, overseeing the election he's a candidate in. No conflict of interest there. Needless to say, I voted a straight Democratic ticket.

An update on Georgia. According to Georgia Votes, early voting is running three times higher than 2014, the last comparable mid-term election. How that will translate to final election results is unknown, but at least a lot of people are voting.

mailed my ballot last week. Theres lots of Bate ads in florida trying to scare people from mail in ballots Saying "they wont get counted" And they should go to the polls in person. Legally they have to for the final count but if there is a clear projected winner they arn't going to stay up all night... if the person requires more votes then mail in ballots they will leave it to the next day to count. most people just read the headline tho and assume the rest. they limit polling locations creating long lines hoping you get frustrated. last time i voted in person it took me 5 1/2 hours...

According to Georgia Votes, 944,000 early votes have been cast so far in this state, matching the 2014 total with a week to go in early voting. In other words, a *lot* of people are voting so far. I'm hopeful this is a good sign. One indicator is the black vote (29.3%) is nearly as high as their share of the population (31.1%)
