It's not even a good render ffs.
Take a look at the digital "House of Mars" that just sold for almost half a million euros in the world's first crypto real estate sale

Echa un vistazo a la "Casa de Marte" digital que acaba de venderse por casi medio millón de euros en la primera venta de criptoinmuebles del mundo
It's in Spanish so let me give you the edited highlights.
some one built a amateur looking house on an opensim type region, set up as an oar file, locked it down to a non-fungible token, or NFT (ie a one off) and sold it to a Canadian for over half a million US dollars.
Where did we go wrong???
I wonder if they have a dungeon in the place that they're looking to furnish 😂

Its a neat idea, and except for the curved bits, prolly a fairly low LI, but... I could prolly do better within the same theme.

When Andy Warhol started using an Apple to make art, it was new and he was at least as competent as any of the professionals that were turning to digital design. The Mars House is student-level work at best but CRPTO so ART.

Well damn. Here I was thinking $L3000 was a lot for a virtual hous. Even the ones for $L100 look better than that one.

Man and I thought Crypto was a huge waste, this NFT thing is some new level of fucking nuts.

Also I like how they mention Decentraland, which is another thing that's just more pointless speculative crypto based nonsense trying to create artificial scarcity in an infinitely xopyable digital world.

On a completely unrelated side note, apparently my Spanish is getting pretty good because I could at least follow most of that article, which is neat.

It makes no sense.

The idea is that a piece of uploaded digital art can be given a unique blockchain-recorded hashed token and a person can buy that specific token which will be unique to a particular uploaded file - even other exact copies of the work can be uploaded but will never have the same token, ensuring that each "copy" is still unique.

Paying gigantic amounts of money for this is stupid because

1) Uhhh....other exact copies of the work can be uploaded. Buying the token doesn't buy you copyright. The token may be unique, but there's nothing stopping the artist from creating multiple NFT's using the same artwork, in which case who cares whether "your" token is unique?

2) The token may never expire, but the artwork itself is still uploaded to a normal URL which can expire. So in a few months the token you bought just links to a 404.

3) There's nothing systematically stopping you from uploading and selling NFTs to work that isn't yours and that you don't actually have rights to use or sell.

But, it's crypto, so cryptovangelists will pay absurd amounts of money to promote it. And artists will gladly create NFT's of their work just because it's finally a way to actually make money off of digital art without having to make furry porn; although getting a buyer to pay such an absurd amount of money like in the article is more like a lottery win.

What I find amusing is back in the old days (2012-2013) I was buying bitcoins with L$ I earned trading on the Lindex. Then when the price exploded the previous time (2017) I thought the bitcoin price made no sense. Now people are paying crazy money for Second Life creations. We live in a strange world. I still think all of this crypto stuff is a "tulip mania" type bubble.

Or it's just money laundering.
I think we have a winner!
A large part of me suspects that NFTs were invented for exactly this reason. You don't even have to start a fake cleaning company to come clean your fake restaurant when you can simply trade a few NFTs.

The art is pretty low res too. From what I can tell, the file size is limited to somewhere between 10 and 50 megabytes.

Great to see you again, Couldbe!

I found some articles in English, too

However, there's a lawsuit pending (because of course there is)

Or it's just money laundering.
Or a PR stunt for Ether virtual currency. Seeing how as the whole story was prtty much forgotten about, we now have them in the news again about how a graphic artist with sub par skills is fighting with the artist who hired them with even less skills for ownership of 1st year SL build quality house.

Take a close look at these designs that Kim created/approved

This is the work of someone who has no idea about human anatomy. The chair near the middle seems to be the only one even close to being usable. If the height of the seats of all the furniture are at the proper height, then the backs are way too far back which means no back support or if you scoot back, your fet dangle awkwardly. If the seats are the proper depth so the backs are usable, the backs will only be about lower to middle back in height at best while the chairs are then way too low to the floor so your knees are up higher than your waist and probably hitting the underside of the tables. The same lack of human proportions applies to the curved couch as well. The round table is maybe footstool height (15") which maks it useless as a table unless you're just tossing mail/books/cat brushes on it. The blue chair is probably the best designed piece of the lot.

The orange chairs are a stolen/uncredited design that I've seen before but can't remember where. The curved couch is just based off the orange chairs but with a cushion.

But where are the reflections? The shadows? The lack of these gives it no sense of depth nor scale and makes me think my guess of 1st year cgi artist hired by beginner artist who saw a video on youtube about vr...

Also, next time I'm in world, 2nd life imitates art ;)
