I just finished Amazon's limited series Homecoming, with Julia Roberts. It took a little while to click with me, but ultimately I loved it. It is from Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot), and it shares its unusual storytelling style. I found the usage of two different scene framings to indicate the present and the future distracting at first, but it all comes together pretty well. It is also not clear at first what the series is trying to be, and I don't think it is ever really one thing. Julia Roberts is the best part. It took some pretty special material for her to do a series, and she was incredible in the role. The rest of the cast was excellent too. I also liked how it ended. I wasn't sure where it would lead, but it was worth the journey.
Give it a chance - it takes a few episodes to get going, but they are only approximately 30 minutes each, so it's not a huge time commitment.
