Cristiano Recently I've been unable to link to Snapzilla images from other sites, and I can no longer see any that I or other people have previously linked to. Here and on the official SL forum I'm getting no error message, just blank. But I did get an error message when I tried to do it on Wordpress, that said something like "alt text missing". I have no idea how to fix that, there doesn't seem to be an option in Snapzilla to add any alt text.

What's up here and how do I fix it (besides the obvious "go back to Flickr")?

Matty Luminos can you show me an example of where the image is no longer showing? Your images are showing fine for me, including on external sites. Images on Snapzilla are already on an external site anyway from the main website.

You have to be somehow blocking images.snapzilla.net - that is the URL for the images. Your images all show fine.

How odd. It's only started happening in the last few days and I haven't changed anything.

If I have images.snapzilla.net blocked, I have no idea how to unblock them. I can see them on snapzilla itself just fine. I've turned off adblock for snapzilla and VVO, it hasn't helped, and I don't know what else to try?

I see those pics just fine. Are you using some kind of aggressive ad-blocker? Have you tried a different browser to see if it happens there too?
It does work in another browser, but I don't want to have to change browsers, either permanently or just for using VVO.

you have yet to state the browser it's being blocked on... let us know so we can try to walk you through it.

I'm using Brave (which is basically Chrome, but without Google's nasty bits).

What happens if you try to view them with the browser in incognito mode? If that works, then you likely have some sort of browser add-on that is blocking images from loading from Snapzilla. You'll have to disable them one at a time until you find the culprit.

Out of curiosity, is there any difference between Brave and Chromium? I've heard of Brave, but I'm not familiar with it.

Brave is basically Chromium with a focus on Tor and built-in privacy/protection from ad tracking and the like.

It's also got YetAnotherCryptocurrency you can use to 'tip' websites it in lieu of ads. If the website creator accepts YetAnotherCryptocurrency. Or something.

I just use firefox with uBlock Origin. :hide:

In Incognito mode, it's exactly the same.

I have no add-ons installed.

Well... shoot.

I assume you've done the usual clear browser cache and cookies?

That's all I've got.

The reason why it's failing is, Snapzilla seems to be having trouble with https://

This is the main page with Firefox and HTTPSEverywhere addon enabled.

The images from images.snapzilla.net won't load at all over https://, it just hangs until it times out:

Brave is probably set so on https:// sites like virtualverse, only https:// content loads. Given that Chrome is already doing this by default, or will soon, and that Firefox will follow - it's time to make Snapzilla properly https:// ready, Cris!

Ooh yes this explains it; it also explains the other thing too - pages with images taking forever to load. And yes, Brave IS set to show https only (not sure if I can change that - I'll have another root through the settings.

But why is it working for me on Chrome, if Chrome is doing the same? Maybe they haven't actually started doing that yet?

Yes, could be. I don't have Chrome to test it, but it is coming sooner than later. I think the endgame is to not show http:// at all at some point.
