I hear "Yes, yes, that's an excellent idea", but the first time I did hear the "fucking" in there. But by the 2nd repeat, it was just 'an excellent idea'. :)

When it comes down to it Grover has a filthy mouth. Mr. Rogers is the only pure one.

The first few times I heard the f-bomb.
Then I clicked on another tweeted video at random and did not hear it. Like Yanni and Laurel, it depends on the quality of the sound as well as the viewer's ears.
I prefer to think he said it, though.

I'm going to hazard a guess that Disney -- who owns the Muppets now -- probably wouldn't risk trashing the whole franchise for a giggle. Sounds like Grover's saying, "Sounds like an excellent idea to me!" It got a bit mangled by the Grover voice, though, and I can hear it the other way, too.

The thing is, when they're standing there listening with a script in hand -- and when they were editing -- they wouldn't hear the f bomb because they're reading the script. Considering how often these things are reviewed -- in production, again in editing, again if there is post for visual effects, again for final sound mixing, and then network standards and practices, it is kind of surprising that no one heard the ambiguity, though! I guess its so unthinkable that no one thought it.

at first listen I heard f bomb, but running it through software and touching it up slightly it's a lot more clear "that sounds like an excellent idea". they probably weren't hearing an f bomb at any point listening back before it aired, during editing or anything. i'd say it's a combination of muppeteer talking a bit too fast in grover voice + really borderline audio quality on the other end (mobile devices especially will degrade it, obviously, but so will uploading internet video)

This is so stupid.

All I can hear is him saying it's a fucking excellent idea.

But no they didn't have him say that, for fuck's sake. It's just the human ear combined with his weird-ass muppet accent.

It is not the ear. It is the mindset.
And what Grover says in that clip isn't even close to the f**king f-word.

The first two times I listened I didn't hear "f*ucking* at all but every time since it's there as clear as day. Bewildering.

Ok, so who else clicked on the OP link because they thought they could not POSSIBLY have interpreted the headline correctly?
