And this is just part of why electing a man who went bankrupt 4 times might be a bad idea: How a downgrade to the U.S. credit rating could affect the economy
You forget to a lot of his supporters paying all their bills ontime is like magic so they do not think that is a problem. Granted, in the current economy it is tough but it does not teach good money management either. This is why you get things like people paying one credit card with another one and thinking both are free money.

Huh! Who'da thunk it?

Shutdown Shutters Many D.C. Tourist Attractions — But Not The One In Trump's Hotel

The government's partial shutdown has turned Washington's National Mall into a bleak place. Trash cans are overflowing, museums and historic sites are shuttered. Park Service rangers and Smithsonian employees are furloughed as the shutdown drags on.

One of the very few government-owned tourist attractions that's still open is just a few blocks away, in the clock tower of the historic, 1899-vintage Old Post Office building. Three park rangers are on duty, guiding visitors up two elevators and onto an observation deck that provide dramatic views of downtown Washington. There's also a historic set of bells that ring regularly.
Yes, that old Post Office building.

Airports are starting to feel the squeeze. I've seen a few stories about terminal closings in the offing. Airlines are big business, you'd think the Rs would care.
Not that they're not trying, albeit in a limited fashion. There are several bills to at least help here and there. Turtle is shooting them all down.

Bloomberg - Air Traffic Controllers, Working Unpaid, Sue U.S. Over Shutdown

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association sued the U.S. government for forcing its members to work without pay as a partial government shutdown nears day 22, the longest on record.

The air traffic controllers union is seeking a court order compelling the U.S. to account for all the wages and overtime pay to which its approximately 3,000 members are entitled and to pay them. The union claims the government is depriving its members of their earned wages without due process, in violation of the 5th Amendment of the Constitution.

I am going to guess the government will say that is part of the deal of working for them. However name one other employer who can just decide to tell people to still report to a full schedule and not pay them. Or tell people with practically no notice and no cause (other than an employment-at-will state) not to come in to work and they may or may not be paid at some unknown future date. Then head the org with someone who does not see a problem.

It continually boggles my mind how an entire political party is supporting a whiny baby who isn't getting what he wants, because a significant percentage of the population also supports said whiny baby. Unconditionally.

Never forget that Donald is a symptom. The problem is people who still vote for Republicans.
