It is quite common in fact, for clearing brush. My next-door neighbor when I lived in rural Alabama kept some, and I would feed them branch trimmings from my side. They literally will eat anything.

My neighbor had goats. Can confirm - they will eat most anything leafy or twiggy as long as it isn't too big.

When I lived in rural Alabama, my next-door neighbor had goats. They indeed will eat anything they can chew. I used to feed them small leafy branches over the fence
