A friend, who is quite old and was a keen user of Newsgroups, was suspended for using the word 'bugger' - we Brits use that in common speech; 'silly bugger' 'bugger off'... But it seems that in the USA, where the moderator was, bugger only refers to the act of sodomy and is considered very rude!? He tells of a friend who was banned for repeatedly referring to the place he lives, an English town near me, called Scunthorpe... People can be such twats (that's twat - rhymes with fat NOT pot).

Sounds like a mod was just on a power trip. I think most of us Americans think "bugger" is just a funny clownish word. Sorry you got banned! I really think that with the growing power social media has over our lives, companies should be required to tell us why we are banned and open the door for us to challenge it in court if it's just a complete lie.

If you don't mind asking, what were you banned for? Also twat is such a great word. I like bugger too, though don't see it much. I figured it always meant anal sex anyway, but in a cute way lol.

You can be a member for years, then one slip up, and bam, you are gone, and no appeal. It totally sucks.

A bugger is someone that engages in buggery... gay anal sex. its an all around insult regardless of if they are an actual bugger or not.

ah The Scunthorpe Problem so famous a case of stupid censorship that it now embodies all such problems. How can anyone involved in moderation not be aware of it?

The only subreddit that I'm banned on (that I know of) is r/cybertruck, and since I never joined or posted on it, the only possible reason I could've been banned there is because I posted on r/CyberStuck once. I assume the task is handled by a bot, but it's amusing to think of a r/cybertruck mod just furiously going through CyberStuck and preemptively banning every single person who posts there.

I recently found out that I had been banned from Twitter, I'll never call it 'X'. The only issue I have with this is I've never signed up for Twitter. I want to know what I did that was so bad they had to preban me.

My dog caught a squirrel the other day, we walked right up to it and didn't even see it in the grass. It ran when we were right on top of, across the road with my dog in hot pursuit. It ran up a tree about 10 feet, so I said "sorry pup, you lost it", then the damn thing fell to the ground and my dog got it.
At that point my neighbor who was on her front porch started screaming about how horrible I was for letting my dog kill a squirrel. That squirrel had to be half dead when we saw it, but she screached and screached. We went home with my dog proudly carrying the dead squirrel in her mouth. After we got home my other dog had to check it out, I'm guessing it had been hit by a car. I scooped it into a grocery sack and chucked it into the woods across from my house.
Dogs are hunters, what can I say.

My wife and I adopted a rescue who was about a year old. Within the first few weeks, she caught and killed three squirrels. Poor things were used to slow cats, so they weren't prepared for a really fast and lethal dog. She's added two possums to her kill list and just last week she went after a groundhog. Fortunately, those critters are tough, so even after a mauling it just scampered away. Don't ask about the skunk...

Poor things were used to slow cats, so they weren't prepared for a really fast and lethal dog. She's added two possums to her kill list and just last week she went after a groundhog. Fortunately, those critters are tough, so even after a mauling it just scampered away. Don't ask about the skunk...

My dog is more interested in the chase, she got ahead of me when we were walking in a field one time, she was up over a slight rise when she started barking her head off. I cleared the rise and saw her nose to nose with a groundhog. She was barking, the groundhog was on its hind legs chattering. The ground hog knew it couldn't outrun my dog, so it just stood its ground. My dog was like come on, run. After taking a video I pulled her away and we continued our walk. Another time she cornered a possum in the backyard.. same thing just bark and bark and bark, I finally cleared a path for the possum to get away under the fence.
She spent an hour one time barking at a black snake.
Her favorite prey is moles, she can see the ground move, and she just pounces and digs them up.
As long as it runs away, she wants to chase it.
