I checked it out today. It's not great, but you know... typical kids world. They seem to be going after Rec Room's market share, which is to say they ripped off an old virtual world named There, which was actually a pretty fun place, while it existed.
Then I saw this article about virtual groping in Horizons, and I couldn't help but laugh. I mean, I guess groping or bumping into somebody might be more of a problem in head mounted virtual worlds, and that can be triggering, so I don't want to totally dismiss it... but it just seems really weird. It's not like we have haptic feedback, where you can feel groping, unless they hack your teledildonics or something. Think about it, of all the wild complaints we've all heard about SL, have you ever heard of anybody in SL seriously complain about groping? It's such a non-issue in SL, we don't even really have any features to stop it from happening. Groping seems like a minor issue, compared to coming back after getting up for a coffee to find a cube on your head! Maybe groping in Horizons is analagous to vampire bites in SL?
A woman was sexually harassed on Meta’s VR social media platform. She’s not the first—and won’t be the last.
