Keep posting about it, I'll keep reading and someday it will reach the point where it's easier to install and I'll be ready!

I'm waiting for them to come out of beta. The one who makes VRidge apparently wants to put it on the Oculus Store when it's fully released. Too bad I can't play the Oculus games on the PC Oculus client using the Quest. I only have the one game that's not on the Quest, Lone Echo.

Supposedly Oculus games work through Vridge using Revive, but I've not tried it yet. Most of my VR titles are actually on the Oculus side as I hate SteamVR. Lone Echo currently does not work with Revive.

Quest doesn't *need* it, it's just if you want to turn the Quest into a PC VR headset. This means, of course, you need a computer that is powerful enough to run a PC VR heaset - the quest's onboard computer will not be used, and it will be treated like a simple "dumb" display device like Oculus Rift. So, user beware - if your graphics card isn't up to spec, you won't hit frame-rates smooth enough for VR.

The Quest is made to be a all-in-one, stand alone device, and will run best on software specifically designed for it.

I don't think there's really anything SteamVR offers that the Quest library can't already do

edit: except vrchat

I just watched a video that talked about 3 future updates to the Quest: Dual controller input, being able to use it with no lights and 60fps switching (Apps will be able to switch between 60/72 fps.)

Pure 3 Dof tracking (head stuck at a single point in space, and can only rotate) feels really bad to me. Makes me get sick really fast. Moving my head and not seeing that reflected also breaks the VR illusion immediately. Just takes you right out of it.

I've already used Quest in low-light rooms (usually by accident) and it worked better than I would expect, so I really don't feel a need for lights-out mode. I hope it's a setting that can be controlled, rather than something kicked on automatically, because 3dof tracking does not sound appealing.

The reason for the push to allow a night mode is so that it can be used while lying in bed in the dark to watch things on it. It's not a forced mode.

Hey Cristiano -- Is it possible to play Sims 4 on the Quest, using the Virtual Desktop? That could be a lot of fun, the more I think about it.

No - I don't think it would work too well since it is a keyboard/mouse game. I have played a few games that use a controller and they work well, but I'm not sure how non-gamepad games would work.

I got it to work fairly easily. I had to search for the ADB download on the Oculus website. I installed and played some QuakeQuest which is VR Quake for the Quest.

I don't have SideQuest loaded yet, but the latest descriptions of BeatOn have really tempted me to try it. Then I read a horror story of someone who accidentally corrupted their installation and now the Quest is bricked... and my courage fails.

The latest update appears to have introduced a minor glitch in my Quest, or at least in Beat Saber. That's where I see it, at any rate, probably because I spend more time in Beat Saber than in any other program. About once or twice in a 30min session, I'll get a Black Screen flicker, usually just enough to make me miss one cut, no more. I'm not the only one, there are numerous posts on Reddit about this problem, but no solutions yet.

Crossing my fingers that the next update or two will resolve this without me doing anything drastic. Oculus Support suggested I uninstall/reinstall Beat Saber and I'm all "Nuh uh!!" since that would erase my hard-earned scores. I'm not quite desperate enough to do that yet.

This is coming out August 15th. It's a adventure game with puzzles.

Also coming out on the 15th. It's another puzzle game with humor.

She said that the sound quality sounds the same to her but that the Oculus earbuds are more comfortable for longer periods of time.

I noticed both of them on Amazon a few days ago.
